Cadillac Well Field Upgrades
Overview
The City of Cadillac’s Well Field needed a replacement well site and so six new buildings were constructed to supply the city with a new home for their utility operations. Windemuller was enlisted to carry out automation, electrical, and communications work to get the new site up and running. The team provided a medium voltage connection with a 1200 amp service, installed a 750KW backup generator, and completed service on three well houses with each containing 125hp well pumps. In addition to these tasks, Windemuller also executed automation and electrical work on the service building, office building, truck garage, and cold storage building.
Unlike most utility operations, this site communicates with other city properties via antennas – including a 70’ tower installed by our team. Cadillac Wells was a unique and rewarding project due to the extensive technical work our team completed simultaneously on six separate buildings. Improving water supply infrastructure is no simple task and Windemuller was proud to help upgrade the municipal water system for the Cadillac community.
