Pickleball has been named one of America’s fastest growing sports and the Grand Rapids Pickleball Club (GRPC) has felt the push as their organization continues to grow. With more than 900 regular members plus the highly attended Beer City Open Tournament right around the corner, the club was in need of an expansion. Part of the enhancement project included replacing 43 light fixtures on 12 poles throughout the complex. Due to the upcoming tournament, Windemuller was eager to kick off this unique project to ensure the upgrades would be complete within GRPC’s timeframe.
A tight turnaround prompted our team to carefully develop a logistics plan that ensured two crews and two bucket trucks were on-site to complete the job. To reach the poles at the center of the complex, our crew worked closely with the GRPC to schedule an appropriate time for our bucket trucks to drive directly on the courts to complete the work. Our team removed the 43 outdated HID lighting fixtures, which weigh 80-100 lbs. apiece and installed 52 new LED Musco state-of-the-art fixtures throughout the complex. Windemuller was the perfect partner for this role. Not only is our team knowledgeable on the brand, but we are also authorized Musco service providers.
Following the completion of the project, Jeff Howlett, GRPC’s Belknap Enhancement Officer, stated “the job went fabulous, and Windemuller was amazing to work with. We have never experienced a job go so well and everything about the process was smooth.”
Club members are already utilizing the new lighting on the courts and have recognized a huge improvement. The Windemuller team is excited to continue our relationship, serving as maintenance partners with Grand Rapids Pickleball Club.
