Commongrounds Cooperative

Commongrounds Cooperative, situated in the heart of Traverse City, is a distinctive project featuring a multi-level, mixed-use structure that functions as a central hub for communal activities. It provides shared spaces, meeting and event venues, affordable workforce housing, and accommodations for local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Windemuller undertook the design-build responsibilities for this community-oriented endeavor. Our focus was to establish a robust and well-planned electrical infrastructure to ensure the diverse needs of the building would be met. Working closely with each tenant, their individual spaces were constructed to their unique specifications. This involved thorough discussions to understand their unique visions, addressing aesthetic preferences, functional requirements, and budget constraints. Moreover, coordination with contractors and partners was maintained to integrate all systems seamlessly into the overall construction.

The Windemuller IT/Communications team also made significant contributions by installing card access systems and security cameras. This addition not only enhances security measures but also fosters a secure environment for both tenants and visitors alike. Our dedication to quality ensured that Commongrounds is more than just a building—it’s a thriving community space tailored to meet the needs of Traverse City’s professionals and residents.
