Project Manager

“I have been working for Windemuller for nearly 16 years. I came to the company after a big move to Michigan from New York, where I’d graduated high school in 1982. I went right to work after high school, taking jobs with a variety of electrical companies in New York and getting experience as everything from a traveling superintendent to a project manager/estimator. When my wife, a Michigan gal to the bone, convinced me to move to the Mitten in 2004, I took a job with Windemuller and never looked back.

When I started with Windemuller, I knew I wanted to work in the office but there were no available jobs in that zone at the time. So instead, I started working the field, assisting with projects at Graceland Fruit in Frankfort and Munson Medical Center here in Traverse City. When the person who was running the Munson job went into surgery, I took over as foreman and saw the project through to completion. It was an opportunity that gave me the chance to prove myself and build trust and rapport with the rest of the Windemuller team.

That job paved the way for what has been my career since at Windemuller, which is as the project manager and estimator for our medical-related projects. I’ve done jobs in other industries along the way, but medical is my expertise. My role as both a project manager and an estimator means I get a nice mix of office work and time on job sites at area hospitals and other worksites. It’s flexible, fun work that is a little different every day, which I love. All told, I’ve made a home at Windemuller over the years, building strong relationships with my clients and friendships with my colleagues that I cherish. After spending a decade and a half here, I can’t picture working anywhere else. It just feels like the place I was meant to land.”
